By my book the rabbit strip is the sexiest flytying material out there. You can get in all the colors of the rainbow, it has got a ton of movement and its easy to work with. You can simply tie one on a streamer hook and then head out to the stream. The Fugazi Streamer on the other hand has a couple of more steps before its finished. Inspired by the Articulated Provo Hooker of Finpusher it has got strips both over and under the hook shank giving it its full bodied design.
The front hook is an Owner flip’n’pitch type of hook no.5304-118 in size 1/0 but you can of course us any jig hook for this pattern.
Marabou.
Aprox. 10-12 holographic flashabou fibers doubled, folded back and trimmed uneven.
Rabbit strip. The color to tie in here is the one you plan for as belly.
1/2″ Palmer Chenille. Be sure to save some space behind the hook eye for the rabbit strips.
Pinch the chenille downwards and the rabbit strip is tied in.
Push the hook thru the hide of another piece of rabbit.
Again pinch the chenille and whip finish.
10 wraps of .030 lead.
Aluninum Sea Eyes size large and super glue.
Wire and 6 mm beads. The belly color should be pointing upwards.
Mount rabbit strip and cut it so it just reaches the strip on the rear hook.
Holographic flashabou folded backwards on either sides.
Rabbit strip and palmer chenille finished off the same way as before.
Another rabbit strip, the same length, on the top. Push it thru!
Senoy’s Laser Dub behind the eyes.
Some more Laser Dub.
